Testimony of Md. Abdus Salam

My name is Md. Abdus Salam. My father’s name is [redacted]. My mother’s name is [redacted]. My approximate age is 40. My address is [redacted] Bangshal, Dhaka-1100.

The incident took place on 05-08-2024. From the morning that day, I gathered with the students and public on Nazimuddin Road for the purpose of participating in the ‘March to Dhaka’ program. Around 11:00 AM, the police aimed tear gas shells, sound grenades, and opened fire at us. We scattered, then gathered again. The police continued to throw tear gas shells, sound grenades, and fire in the same way. Many people were killed and injured by police firing. Around 12:45 PM, as the police fired bullets targeting the students and public, my uncle, Mohammad Yakub, was shot in the chest and fell to the ground. We took him to Mitford Hospital for treatment. After taking him to the hospital, the duty doctor declared him dead. I recorded the scene of my uncle being shot and the scene of him being taken to the hospital on my mobile phone. The Investigating Officer seized this mobile phone, which contained the video, from me. This is the seizure list (Exhibit 11). This is my signature on the seizure list (Exhibit 11/1). This is my signature on the bond of custody (Exhibit 12/1).

It is not true that the video recorded by me was AI-generated and edited.

The video was not displayed in the Tribunal today.
