Witness 6: Mohammad Mohibul Haque
Testimony of Mohammad Mohibul Haque
My name is Mohammad Mohibul Haque, age 21 years. I live in [redacted] Chittagong. On 5th August 2024, I was at my own home in Chittagong. Younger brother Ismamul Haque, age 17, was martyred that day in Chankharpul, Dhaka. Around 1 PM in the afternoon, from my brother ‘Shahid’ (Martyr) Ismamul’s mobile, an unknown person called me and informed me that my brother was injured by police firing and was admitted to Mitford Hospital. Ismamul used to work at Gofur Saudagar’s shop in Chawkbazar. When I called him (Gafur), he went to the hospital and inquired about Ismamul. We could not come to Dhaka that day as long distance transportation was unavailable. However, the next day in the morning, I, along with my mother and two relatives, came to Dhaka.
After coming to Dhaka, I came to know that my brother was brought to DMC (Dhaka Medical College) from Mitford Hospital. Around 6 o’clock, we went to DMC with Gofur Saudagar. There, we had a brief conversation with my brother. He was in the CCU at that time. However, as his condition deteriorated, he was taken to the ICU around 10 PM at night. On the 7th August, in the morning, as his condition deteriorated further, my brother was put on life support.
At 4 PM in the afternoon, he passed away that day. His post-mortem was not done. Around 6 PM in the evening, I left for Chittagong with the body and the death certificate of my brother, and reached Chittagong at 2 AM. The next day, after two Janaza (funeral prayers), he was buried in his native village’s graveyard.

I want their trial. The investigating officer has interrogated me. This is my statement.
