My name is Nargis. Age approximately forty years. Address: [redacted] Joypurhat.

In 2024, I used to live near Mirpur No. 2 Stadium. I am still there. We do fruit business. On the 5th, the day Sheikh Hasina fled in 2024, my niece died by police gunfire. During the movement, I, along with my son Monowar, my niece Rita, and Rita’s mother and father, participated in the quota movement in front of Mirpur Stadium. While standing on the stairs of the Mirpur No. 2 overbridge, a bullet hit my niece’s head. Awami League people and the police had fired. I took Rita to Suhrawardy Hospital. The doctor on duty at the hospital declared her dead. I took the body home from the hospital, bathed her, and took her to the village home in Joypurhat and buried her.

For the murder of my niece Rita, I hold Sheikh Hasina, Quader, the Home Minister, Anisul Huq, and Salman F. Rahman responsible. I have heard from people that Quader, Anisul Huq, the Home Minister, and Salman were close associates of Sheikh Hasina. I want justice for the murder of my niece.

The investigating officer has questioned me.

This is my deposition.

Cross-examination on behalf of present accused Anisul Huq and Salman F. Rahman:

I do not remember on which date the investigating officer questioned me. I have testified today in the Tribunal exactly as I described to the investigating officer.

It is not true that I did not tell the investigating officer that I participated in the movement on other days besides August 5, 2024.

I went to the place of occurrence at approximately five o’clock in the afternoon on August 5, 2024. I had gone to the place of occurrence even before five o’clock in the afternoon.

My niece Rita was shot around 5:00 PM. We were there all day since the morning. I have no education. No post-mortem was conducted on my niece.

It is not true that I have said according to coaching that: “For the murder of my niece Rita, I hold Sheikh Hasina, Quader, the Home Minister, Anisul Huq, and Salman F. Rahman responsible. I have heard from people that Quader, Anisul Huq, the Home Minister, and Salman were close associates of Sheikh Hasina. I want justice for the murder of my niece.”

It is not true that I said according to coaching that I heard from people that Quader, Anisul Huq, the Home Minister, and Salman were close associates of Sheikh Hasina.

It is not true that I provided false testimony.
