We, the 14-Party Alliance, believe that the notorious Jamaat-Shibir militant terrorists have used the quota movement as a pretext to launch attacks on the state, effectively declaring war against it. Under these circumstances, we called in the army to assist. However, based on our experience over the last few days, we have concluded that this Jamaat-Shibir terrorist group has still not halted its attacks on the state. Therefore, to protect the constitutional and democratic framework of Bangladesh, we must completely dismantle the politics of these armed, militant, and terrorist groups by banning them altogether. To that end, a unanimous decision was reached today at a 14-Party Alliance meeting chaired by the Honorable Prime Minister to ban the Jamaat-Shibir organization.
